Courier Public Liability insurance is designed to protect couriers where they are found to be legally liable for causing injury to persons or damage to their property.
Also, if you are employing people then, by law, you must also have Employers Liability insurance which is designed to protect courier employers where they are found to be legally liable for injury to employees.
In both cases the cover will typically include:
- Payment for the cost of the claim itself
- Payment for the third party costs
- Payment for own costs in defending a claim
Typical restrictions will include an indemnity limit and you can expect to pay the first amount of any claim (the excess) for damage to property.
